The Army has a list of rules for conduct in Iraq and Afghanistan called "General Order #1", most of it is ridiculous crap, but the worst one in my opinion is the prohibition against adopting pets. In the midst of all the death and chaos that Soldiers and Marines have to deal with, having a puppy around helps them deal with the stress.
